Here are six schools and hospitals that have recently started programs or plan to do so in the near future:

- Corewell Health, which has dual headquarters in Grand Rapids and Southfield, Mich., will launch the state’s first nurse apprentice program in 2023, the organization said Nov. 5.
- Central Maine Healthcare in Lewiston will offer nursing students financial assistance through a new tuition reimbursement program, the health system said Nov. 1.
- In partnership with HCA Houston Healthcare, Galen College of Nursing will open its fourth Texas nursing education campus in Houston next year. The school will offer a three-year BSN program starting Jan. 9.
- Albany, N.Y.-based Maria College is seeking federal funding to create a virtual reality nurse training program.
- Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins School of Nursing created a policy honors program for students to gain skills in policy analysis and advocacy.
- Cedar Falls-based University of Northern Iowa gained approval to develop and launch a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in fall 2024.
