Mississippi reports first pediatric flu death

Mississippi reported its first pediatric death of the 2018-19 flu season on Dec. 5, season, the Clarion Ledger reported.

There were three reported pediatric flu deaths last flu season.

Only pediatric deaths attributed to influenza are reported to the Mississippi Department of Health.

Mississippi's typically flu season peaks January through March. Flu shots are recommended for people 6 months old and older.
