HHS awards $105M to 1,000+ health centers for quality improvement

Brian Zimmerman -

HHS allocated nearly $105 million to 1,333 health centers across the United States to bolster efforts to improve clinical quality and efficiency, according to a Wednesday announcement.

HHS awarded the funds to health centers that have already achieved improvements in one or more performance assessment categories, including care quality, expanded access to care and addressing mental health disparities.

The grant announcement coincides with National Health Center Week, which runs through Aug. 19 and honors the crucial services health centers provide to more than 25 million people across the U.S.

"Americans deserve a healthcare system that's affordable, accessible, of the highest quality, with ample choices, driven by world-leading innovations, and responsive to the needs of the individual patient," said HHS Secretary Tom Price, MD. "Supporting health centers across the country helps to achieve that mission."
