Dozens of Congolese clinicians held a protest in the city of Butembo April 24, calling on health officials to increase security measures amid heightened violence in the area. The health workers said they will strike the first week of May if their security is not guaranteed.

The threat comes about a week after an epidemiologist with the World Health Organization was killed in an attack at a hospital in the city of Butembo.
