Deer smashes through Tennessee hospital window, injures 3 patients

Gabrielle Masson -

Three patients at Powell, Tenn.-based Tennova Healthcare-North Knoxville Medical Center suffered minor injuries after a buck crashed through a window Nov. 12, according to NBC News.

The deer crashed through a double-paned window at the outpatient clinic and ran around in a frenzy, Roy Smith, officer with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, said, as cited by NBC News. Three patients were evaluated for minor injuries and later released.

The buck exited through a different window and was struck and killed by a wildlife officer's car, according to a wildlife agency statement cited by NBC News.

"Thanks to quick actions of our staff the area was made safe and animal control was called," Ann Metz, a spokeswoman for the hospital, told NBC affiliate WBIR. The clinic's waiting room was cleaned and the window was temporarily boarded up until a replacement can be installed.
