CMS cites lab deficiencies at Cleveland Clinic's Marymount Hospital

Staff -

Cleveland Clinic's Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights, Ohio, voluntarily stopped offering some of its lab services Sept. 4 after CMS identified deficiencies in the lab, according to a report from The Plain Dealer.

The hospital did not reveal what services were halted in the lab, but did tell The Plain Dealer that Marymount Hospital will rely on lab services from other hospitals in the Cleveland Clinic network. The hospital stopped the services voluntarily and is under no CMS sanctions or suspensions.

The unspecified lab services will be discontinued for a "period of time," according to a statement made to the newspaper, which was not defined further.

Marymount Hospital remains open and operating at full capacity.
