Children's National Health System gains $3M for pediatric intensive care setting research

Children's National Health System in Washington, D.C., received $3 million from Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals for furthering research on pediatric patients in the intensive care setting.

Mallinckrodt's Healthcare Advancement Grant will help Children's National launch a three-year outcomes research initiative. The initiative includes establishing a critical care outcomes research initiative team, building on existing partnerships, expanding to acquire additional data and, finally, building outcomes research studies in the critical care arena.

Children's National is home to the Children's Research Institute and the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation. The health system is also one of the top National Institutes of Health-funded pediatric institutions in the country.
