Children's Hospital of Wisconsin offers measles vaccine appointments at 23 locations

Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Wauwatosa opened appointment slots at 23 primary care locations for children to get vaccinated against the measles, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Three things to know:

1. The appointments are available for all children in the area, even if they do not have a CHOW physician as their primary care provider.

2. Healthcare providers will review children's vaccination history using the Wisconsin Immunization Record and administer vaccines as necessary.

3. CHOW's actions come amid a nationwide uptick in measles cases. As of May 3, the CDC has reported 764 measles cases this year — the highest number of infections seen since 1994.
