A patient was injured when a car mistakenly accelerated through the front of a Wilmington, N.C.-based medical office Sept 27, according to WECT News.
The incident occurred at MyEyeDr optometry and eye care center when a driver pulled into a parking spot in front of the building and accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. The car went over the curb and through the front of the building, WECT News reported.
A patient leaving the eye center was taken to the hospital and is being treated for cuts and abrasions from the debris. The car did not directly hit the patient, and the driver was unharmed.
"Everything is being cared for appropriately," a spokesperson for MyEyeDr told Becker's. She said the crash is still under investigation.
