Baltimore clinic administers 800+ free drive-thru flu shots

Harrison Cook -

The staff of Rossville, MD.-based MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center used the Community College of Baltimore County to set up a free drive-thru flu shot clinic that served over 800 attendees, according to The Baltimore Sun.

Here are three things to know:

1. Within the first hour of setting up, the MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center staff administered about 400 shots. In total, the medical team gave shots to 823 attendees.

2. Teresa Muns, chair of emergency medicine at Franklin Square, told The Baltimore Sun that more than 100 shots were administered within the first 10 minutes.

3. The hospital indicated it had not seen many flu cases this year, but health officials aim to vaccinate as many people as they can before flu season picks up.
