Twelve nurses working in the labor and delivery unit at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns in San Diego are pregnant concurrently, according to KNBC, an NBC TV affiliate in Los Angeles.

The nurses are due within months of each other, ranging from May to October. The nursing team at the hospital created a board to keep track of all the nurses who are pregnant.

"It was one name, then two names, then every week there was a name added," said Maricel Sadiarin, a nurse who is due in July.

The nursing team wrote to "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" about the coincidental pregnancies, and the show gifted them 12 tickets for its Mother's Day special.

In March, Maine Medical Center in Portland announced nine of its labor and delivery nurses were pregnant concurrently, and earlier this month, NYU Winthrop Hospital in Mineola, N.Y., reported 15 nurses and physician assistants in the labor, delivery and neonatal intensive care unit sections were all pregnant.
