Ascension to sell 250-bed nursing home

Ascension Living, part of St. Louis-based Ascension, has entered an agreement to sell its 250-bed nursing home in Lewiston, N.Y., to a private group, The Buffalo News reported Jan.5.

Ascension informed providers, residents and staff of the sale on Jan. 4 and said the transition is expected to be finalized in the spring. The private LLC group formed in September and will acquire Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence upon approval of the state Public Health and Health Planning Council. The nursing home is expected to be renamed and rebranded.

The buyers "have deep experience in providing high-quality senior care and currently operate three senior living facilities throughout New York," Ascension spokesperson Molly Gaus told the news outlet. "Plans are in place to ensure continuity of care for residents and a seamless transition of all associates to the buyer as the new operator. … [The buyers are] well-positioned to serve the community and will ensure that the Lewiston area has sustainable, quality senior care long into the future."
