5 states with the highest home healthcare costs

The national median cost for home health services is $47,934 per year, according to Genworth Financial's annual survey.

For the Genworth Cost of Care Survey, conducted by CareScout, more than 47,000 providers performed 15,000-plus surveys of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, adult day health facilities and home care providers. The surveys were conducted during May and June of this year.

Here are the five states with the highest median cost for home healthcare.

  1. North Dakota — $63,972
  2. Washington — $60,632
  3. Alaska — $59,488
  4. Minnesota — $59,488
  5. Wyoming — $59,488
