Sanofi, Google launch startup program for women's healthcare

The Women & Access to Health Daring Circle, a coalition of healthcare and technology companies, has opened applications for a new program supporting late-stage women's healthcare startups.

The Daring Circle launched in November 2018 to support entrepreneurs attempting to apply new technologies to improve women's access to healthcare services. Pharmaceutical company Sanofi and insurer AXA — in collaboration with partners like Google and banking group BNP Paribas — are leading the coalition.

For the new program, the Daring Circle said it is seeking innovators in "health-tech, med-tech or fem-tech" tackling one of six key barriers the group says women face when seeking healthcare services, such as physical distance, financial limitations or lack of information.

The program is focused on late-stage startups — either those creating new "high-tech" solutions or those applying "low-tech" solutions in new ways — that are prepared to scale a proven business model.

Entrepreneurs selected for the program will receive 100,000 euros in funding, as well as opportunities for mentorship by the Daring Circle's partners, according to Politico.

The deadline for applications is Feb. 15. To learn more about the application process, click here.
