The parents of missing CDC physician Dr. Timothy Cunningham said police have called them to examine a body on four separate occasions, only to learn each time it was not their son, according to CNN.

Here are five things to know about the case.

1. Cunningham's parents spoke to CNN Feb. 26 about their 35-year-old son, who has been missing for three weeks.

2. Cunningham, a CDC epidemiologist and alumnus of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, was last seen leaving work Feb. 12 after telling his supervisors he felt ill. His parents reportedly drove to Dr. Cunningham's home, arriving Feb. 14, and discovered their son's cellphone, wallet, keys, car and dog still at his home.

3. parents told CNN they believed something was amiss after last speaking with Dr. Cunningham on the phone and over text message Feb.11.

"As a parent, you have indicators when things are just not right with your child, and that was the case," Dr. Cunningham's father told CNN.

4. His disappearance has prompted a high-profile search and a $10,000 reward for information regarding Dr. Cunningham.

5. A CDC spokesperson told CNN Dr. Cunningham "is a highly respected member of our CDC family. ... Our thoughts are with his friends and family during this difficult time."
