MetroHealth, Greater Cleveland RTA reveal newly named bus line

Cleveland-based MetroHealth and the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority partnered on the newly named transportation line outside of system's main campus.

The partnership rebrands the 51 bus line as the MetroHealth Line effective this fall.

The 51 bus line connects various southern suburbs to downtown Cleveland, and serves more than 2 million people annually, MetroHealth officials said via news release.

They added the rebranded bus line will feature 20 new, MetroHealth-branded vehicles, as well as more than 400 new bus stop signs, and go by six MetroHealth locations, including the main campus.

"This isn't about today, it's about the future; what's coming tomorrow," MetroHealth President and CEO Akram Boutros, MD, said, also noting the initiative is part of the system's overall transformation strategy. "Moving up, does not mean moving out," he added. "We will not leave anyone out as we launch our transformation. We have a shared vision with RTA about creating a better West 25th Street and a more livable Cleveland."
