Enterprise Community Partners receives $50k from Tufts Health Plan Foundation

Enterprise Community Partners, a nonprofit organization that expands access to affordable housing, received $50,000 from Watertown, Mass.-based Tufts Health Plan Foundation to enhance its health and housing learning collaborative to address health needs of older adults.

The $50,000 gift will expand ECP's collaborative to include Boston-based Community Development Corps., which seeks to improve the health outcomes and living conditions for seniors.

The grant was awarded as part of ECP's national Health and Housing Initiative, which aims to lower healthcare costs, improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities among residents living in affordable housing by improving collaboration between the housing and health sectors.

"Our investments focus on improving community livability and addressing inequities to help older adults live healthier, fulfilling lives," Nora Moreno Cargie, president of the Tufts Health Plan Foundation and vice president of corporate citizenship for Tufts Health Plan, said. "Every community has different needs and opportunities. We want to honor communities where they are and catalyze health improvements for older adults and the entire community."
