Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago is using various methods to protect patients who are victims of gang violence, according to a FOX 32 report.
One such method involves admitting patients under false names to prevent outsiders from finding them in the hospital, according to the report.
"The fictitious name sits on top of the real name, so the billing and medical records are always there. It just kind of sits on top but we always know the real patient's name," the hospital's CNO, who asked for anonymity, told FOX 32.
But that's not the only security measure used by Mount Sinai. The hospital also uses metal detecting wands to check if emergency room visitors have weapons with them, according to the report.
