Drugmakers hiked the list prices of more than 250 drugs on New Year's Day in the U.S., according to data from healthcare research firm 3 Axis Advisors.
Reuters exclusively reported Jan. 1 that drugmakers including Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline and Sanofi raised the list prices on more than 200 drugs. Later in the day, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Gilead Sciences and Biogen increased list prices of about 50 drugs.
The median price increase was about 5 percent, and nearly all of the price increases were below 10 percent.
Many branded drugmakers pledged to keep their U.S. list price hikes below 10 percent a year following backlash from lawmakers and the public.
