The retail pharmacy chain partnered with Shipt, a same-day delivery marketplace owned by Target, to deliver the prescriptions. The service will cost $7.99.

CVS said it can now deliver medications and other products within a few hours to homes or offices. The service was piloted in New York in late 2017.

Customers  can order same-day deliveries through the company’s app, by sending a text or by calling the pharmacy.

The move comes as retailers like CVS and Walgreens fight to compete with online giant Amazon, which offers same-day delivery on toothpaste, bandages and other consumer health products.
