Employees at Jellico (Tenn.) Community Hospital had their Florida Blue coverage terminated, the health insurer told CBS affiliate WVLT News.
Florida Blue confirmed the change to WVLT News a day after nurses from the hospital reported their paychecks were late. Two nurses told the news station their Aug. 30 paychecks hadn't arrived as of Sept. 4, and their last paycheck came three days late.
Other staff reported problems with late checks, according to the nurses. The state labor department will not investigate until paychecks are 21 days late.
Jellico Community was purchased in February by West Palm Beach, Fla.-based Rennova Health, the same company that owns nearby Jamestown (Tenn.) Regional Medical Center. Jamestown Regional was closed in June.
