Software company Majesco to help Cigna in digital transformation

Insurance software developer Majesco announced it will work with Cigna to develop a new digital platform for its supplemental health business.

"Equipping our supplemental health business with a new digital operating model underpinned by a next generation core platform will enable us to best serve current and future customers," said Cigna's head of supplemental health solutions, Marc Jeffreys, in a May 25 news release.

Majesco's executive vice president, Prateek Kumar, said in the release "the benefits market is ripe for growth, with more employers looking to offer supplemental benefits for employees particularly given the experience over the last year."

Cigna began to focus more on its supplemental health business following the divestiture of its group life and disability insurance businesses. The payer's current priorities are group accidental injuries, critical illnesses and hospital care, according to the release.
