A Hill-HarrisX poll found just 13 percent of registered voters approve of a single-payer healthcare system that eliminates private plans, The Hill reported.
Here are their key findings:
- 32 percent of voters want a government-run health system with the option to buy supplementary private health plans
- 26 percent of voters want a "public option," or a government health plan available to all, with the ability to opt out and buy a private plan
- 15 percent of voters want zero government involvement in the healthcare system
- 14 percent of voters want to keep the current system
The poll, published Feb. 7, was conducted among 1,001 registered voters Feb. 1-2. Read the full story here.
