3 things to know about Walgreens' collaboration with Optum's clinic chain

MedExpress, a clinic chain owned by UnitedHealth Group's Optum, has opened urgent care centers connected to Walgreens' stores, with plans to open more, Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal reports.

Here are three things to know.

1. MedExpress, which has 200 clinics nationwide, has 11 urgent care centers connected to Walgreens stores across West Virginia, Virginia, Dallas, Omaha, Neb. and Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn.

2. The collaboration is a pilot concept to provide more convenient access to healthcare services.

3. MedExpress plans to open four locations connected to Walgreens facilities in Las Vegas, though no additional information is avaiable about those locations at this time.
