Between 100 and 200 Springdale, Ark.-based Northwest Health physicians went out-of-network with UnitedHealthcare Aug. 1 following a contract dispute that could affect the network status of the system's hospitals if unresolved, according to a Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette report.
The stalled negotiations revolve around how much the Minnetonka, Minn.-based insurer should pay Northwest Health for healthcare services. While the system's hospitals are still in-network with UnitedHealthcare, they could move out-of-network by Nov. 1 without an agreement.
Northwest Health and UnitedHealthcare told Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette negotiations are ongoing. Both companies blamed each other for the dispute.
