Michigan to pilot data-sharing program among Medicaid managed care plans

Michigan Association of Health Plans will pilot a data-sharing initiative among some of the state's Medicaid managed care organizations.

Under the program, competing Medicaid managed care plans will use Payformance Solutions' TrustHub tool to share and analyze data. Payformance is a provider of value-based reimbursement solutions. TrustHub will aggregate historical claims data and model alternative payment options for participating plans.

The program will launch in the first quarter of this year and is available to Medicaid managed care plans across Michigan. More than 1.8 million beneficiaries are covered by the state's managed care plans.

MAHP and Payformance plan to implement TrustHub for all managed care plans to use during value-based contracting upon successful completion of the pilot.
