Humana, Anthem support transparency-first claims management venture

Humana and Anthem are on board with DomaniRx, a joint venture creating a transparency-driven claims adjudication platform.

Announced July 21, DomaniRx, which was formed as a joint venture by SS&C Technologies Holdings, flaunts "end-to-end transparency" and data analytics. The platform is cloud-based and held on SS&C's cloud platform.

The two companies have collectively put nearly $140 million into the project, earning them a 20 percent stake, according to eMarketer

According to the initial announcement, Humana was the first to sign on.

"This is a milestone partnership for the healthcare technology industry, and we are pleased that Humana will be our partner and first customer," said Danny Delmastro, DomaniRx's general manager. "The insights we will draw from hundreds of millions of claims transactions, powered by DomaniRx's advanced processing platform, will provide participating members flexible tools, advanced analytics, and customizable programs — all while increasing transparency, accessibility and service quality for members and pharmacies."

The pair of insurers have yet to utilize an in-house pharmacy benefits management program that stands out compared to UnitedHealth Group’s OptumRx, Cigna’s Express Scripts and CVS Health’s Caremark, which dominate the market, according to eMarketer
