Here are the number of health plan members the five largest commercial insurers cover through value-based payment arrangements with providers:
1. UnitedHealth Group covered 15 million members under value-based care arrangements in 2017.
2. Aetna covered more than 7 million of its members through value-based care arrangements as of Jan. 30, 2018.
3. In April 2017, Anthem said it covered more than 5.5 million commercial members under value-based agreements, according to Forbes.
4. More than 3.6 million Cigna commercial members are covered under value-based contracts as of February 2019.
5. Humana had more than 2 million Medicare Advantage members and about 115,000 commercial members in value-based care arrangements as of Sept. 30, 2018.
