Cleveland Clinic-Humana plan adds 4 counties

A co-branded Medicare Advantage health plan launched by Cleveland Clinic and Humana last year will expand to four additional counties, the organizations said Oct. 1.

For 2019, the $0 premium MA plan will be offered beyond Ohio's Cuyahoga County to Lake, Lorain, Medina and Summit counties. Plan members will gain access to Cleveland Clinic's more than 3,500 physicians and researchers.

The plan will be available during Medicare Advantage's open enrollment, which starts Oct. 15 for coverage beginning Jan. 1.

In June 2017, Cleveland Clinic also teamed up with startup health insurer Oscar Health for a co-branded health plan. In January, the organizations estimated their new health plan held 15 percent of Cleveland's health insurance market after enrolling 11,000 members for 2018.
