Antidote Health's digital approach: 5 things to know

Israeli startup Antidote Health is looking to plug the uninsured into care through a reimagined digital-first relationship with providers.

Here are five things to know:

1. Antidote Health is a health maintenance organization that uses a telehealth subscription to digitally connect uninsured members with physicians. According to the startup, it is the first fully digital HMO in the country.

2. Plans include 24/7 digital care, unlimited visits with physicians, prescriptions and medication coverage without copay, according to Antidote Health's website. Co-founder and CEO Avihai Soudri described its approach as blending "AI-based virtual healthcare and Fin-tech (Insure-tech)," according to Geektime

3. All of this is done with artificial intelligence as a backbone, which helps connect members to video calls or chatbots. The startup leverages telehealth and AI to keep costs low, with plans starting at $29 a month.

4. Antidote Health's mark in the United States is still unfolding. Since launching in 2021, it is available in five states, with more to come in 2022, according to Geektime.

5. The organization's most recent move was securing $12 million in seed funding. That funding will be used to help roll out its AI-based HMO in the United States.
