Anthem's narrow network in Indiana grows to 45 hospitals

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has expanded its narrow provider network, HealthSync, to 45 hospitals, the insurer said Sept. 3.

Providers participating in HealthSync have their reimbursements tied to care quality, assuming a greater financial responsibility to provide cost-effective care with high outcomes.

Earlier in 2019, the network expanded into Central Indiana through a partnership with Mishawaka, Ind.-based Franciscan Alliance. In August, Indianapolis-based St. Vincent Health, part of St. Louis-based Ascension, joined HealthSync. To date, almost 10,000 physicians and medical professionals are in the network.
