Aetna moving HQs to attract 'younger people, innovation'

Mark Bertolini, CEO of Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna, said the company's decision to relocate its headquarters is "an investment in attracting different kinds of people into our organization," according to a CNBC report.

While the insurer has not decided where to move its headquarters, a source familiar with the matter told CNBC Boston and New York City are top choices. Aetna has a technology center in Massachusetts.

Mr. Bertolini told CNBC Europe's "Street Signs" as Aetna has "to move away from being just an insurance company to actually impacting the underlying health of the population, that requires younger people, technologists, innovation."

Last month Aetna said it intends to reach an agreement by early summer to move its headquarters.
