7-hospital ACO signs value-based agreement with Humana

Bridges Health Partners, an ACO comprising seven hospitals, inked a value-based agreement with Humana for Medicare Advantage members in western Pennsylvania.

The Warrendale, Pa.-based hospital network was formed in 2017 by four nonprofit health systems: Butler (Pa.) Health System, Greensburg, Pa.-based Excela Health System, St. Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh, and Washington (Pa.) Health System.

Under the agreement, physicians who are affiliated with the ACO and in Humana's Medicare Advantage network will be held accountable for patient outcomes and the cost of healthcare. Reimbursement will be tied to value instead of fee-for-service processes.

Bridges Health Partners comprises more than 1,450 hospital beds and over 1,000 employed and affiliated physicians.
