America's Health Insurance Plans added four health insurers to its ranks, the health insurance industry's largest trade organization said July 16.
Here are four things to know about the additions:
1. CalOptima is a community-based public health insurer serving low-income residents in Orange County, Calif. The health insurer has four programs: Medicaid, Medicare-Medicaid, a Medicare Advantage dual eligible special needs plan, and a program of all-inclusive care for the elderly.
2. CareOregon, a nonprofit health insurance provider, serves low-income households in Oregon. It offers Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and Children's Health Insurance Program plans.
3. Health Plan of San Joaquin is a nonprofit managed care health insurer serving California Medicaid enrollees in San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties.
4. Priority Health is a nonprofit health insurer covering Michigan members through employer-based plans, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Medicaid and individual policies.
