10 states with the highest uninsured rates

America's uninsured rate is on the rise, according to a report from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The rate of Americans without health insurance grew to 8.5 percent, or 27.5 million, in 2018. That's compared to 7.9 percent, or 25.6 million Americans, the year before.

Here are the 10 states with the highest uninsured rates in 2018:

1. Texas: 17.7 percent
2. Oklahoma: 14.2 percent
3. Georgia: 13.7 percent
4. Florida: 13 percent
5. Alaska: 12.6 percent
6. Mississippi: 12.1 percent
7. Nevada: 11.2 percent
8. Idaho: 11.1 percent
9. North Carolina: 10.7 percent
10. Arizona: 10.6 percent
