SCL Health, Lyft join forces for nonemergency transportation

Broomfield, Colo.-based SCL Health and transportation company Lyft are working together to provide nonemergency transportation services to patients who need them.

Under the parties' agreement, SCL Health's Denver-area patients will have an additional transportation resource for medically necessary care, SCL Health said via news release.

"Many of the patients we serve rely on public transportation, which can make accessing medical care challenging," said Peter Kung, vice president of innovation and virtual health for SCL Health. "Our collaboration with Lyft allows us to provide an additional resource for SCL Health's most vulnerable patients by helping them reach the care they need."

SCL Health said established patients at its Denver-area care sites will initially be able to use the service, although the parties plan to expand transportation services to other sites as well. The initial Colorado locations include Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver; Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge; Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette; Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton; and a number of physician clinics.
