A small plane crashed in New Jersey, killing two pilots who were conducting a non-emergency medical flight to pick up a patient, according to NJ.com.
Robert Winner and co-pilot Timothy Scannevin were flying a mission for Angel Flight East, which provides free, non-emergency air transport services to qualified patients and their families.
The two men were on their way to pick up a patient in Massachusetts who was to receive care in Philadelphia.
Mr. Winner was a volunteer with Angel Flight East and had performed 16 flights for the organization. Mr. Scannevin was not associated with the organization.
"The directors and staff of Angel Flight East are deeply saddened that this accident occurred, and their thoughts and prayers are with Robert and Timothy, and their loved ones," a statement from the organization said, according to a Fox News report.
