Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital treats victims of California school shooting

Five people were taken to Valencia, Calif.-based Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital after a Nov. 14 shooting at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, Calif., according to the Los Angeles Times.

Two students died and at least four others were injured in the shooting, authorities said.

After the shooting was reported around 7:40 a.m., paramedics swarmed the school, treating wounded victims. Five people were transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. A 16-year-old female and 14-year-old male both died there. Two female patients and one male are currently being treated. 

Authorities apprehended a 16-year-old male suspect. The teen is being treated at a hospital for a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's Capt. Kent Wegener.
