Anne-Marie Kommers -

Hospital management briefly evacuated patients and staff from a single building at San Diego VA Medical Center due to a gas leak on Sept. 5, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune.

The hospital reported the gas leak around 2:15 p.m. and evacuated at 3 p.m., said Mónica Muñoz, a spokesperson for the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. The gas leak was repaired by 3:30 p.m., when staff and patients returned to the building.

A spokesperson for the hospital confirmed that staff and patients cleared a spinal-cord injury building for about an hour.
