A construction crew hit a gas main next to the emergency department at Marietta, Ga.-based WellStar Kennestone Hospital on May 1, which temporarily disrupted normal hospital operations, reports WSB-TV.

The gas main break forced the hospital to reroute ambulances and evacuate some patients.

Workers fixed the gas leak shortly before 11:00 p.m. May 1. The hospital said all patients are back in their rooms and that normal operations have resumed.

WellStar Kennestone operates one of the busiest emergency rooms in Georgia. In fiscal year 2017, the hospital recorded 140,373 ED visits.
