Nurse plays the violin to help patients heal

A nurse has started playing the violin at Bridgton (Maine) Hospital to help care for patients, according to CNN.

Sarah Kapinos, RN, started playing the violin at age 4. She attended Juilliard and spent her first career playing in concert halls around the world. She began working as a nurse at Bridgton Hospital in 2011, but it was not until early 2019 that the hospital's nursing director, Jill Rollins, RN, suggested Ms. Kapinos begin performing for patients.

"What could be better than being able to do two things that you love in one day -- it's just tremendous," Ms. Kapinos told CNN. "If it improves a patient's experience here at the hospital, it is worth everything."
