Edison, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Health partnered with patient engagement company Connexient to bring indoor GPS services to the health system's 17 hospitals.
Four things to know:
1. The Connexient service, dubbed MediNav, is designed to give patients indoor turn-by-turn navigation.
2. Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center will be the first hospital in the network to deploy Connexient's MediNav services. Services at Neptune City, N.J.-based Jersey Shore University Medical Center will launch in March.
3.Connexient's MediNav integrates with Epic's patient portal, MyChart, which gives users access to their lab results, appointment information, medication data and immunization history.
4.After the navigation system is installed, Hackensack Meridian Health plans to integrate MyChart's appointment scheduling function with MediNav's indoor GPS and location services.
