Boston Children's Hospital began phase two of its patient engagement collaboration with GetWellNetwork, a provider of interactive patient care solutions.

In phase one, which went live in August 2016, Boston Children's integrated GetWellNetwork into its Cerner EMR system. The integration enables care teams to assign educational videos to patients, which are deployed on TVs in more than 250 patient rooms.

During phase two, Boston Children's will expand this program to an additional 396 beds. The hospital will also deploy GetWellNetwork's interactive patient whiteboard, which enables care teams to provide patients with up-to-date personalized treatment plans.

Boston Children's will lastly integrate GetWellNetwork into the hospital's patient portal, to extend communication outside of the hospital by allowing patients and their families to provide post-discharge feedback.
