TeleHealth Services launches AI-driven patient engagement platform

Anuja Vaidya -

TeleHealth Services unveiled iCare Navigator, an interactive, artificial intelligence-powered patient engagement platform that includes a virtual health coach.

The solution uses avatars that engage patients to help them improve their health and change unhealthy behaviors. Technology already in use in hospitals, such as EMRs, patient televisions, and bedside tablets, can scale the platform.

TeleHealth Services is working with healthcare facilities to implement pilot programs for the iCare Navigator.

"Our goal in developing iCare Navigator was to create the first interactive patient care system that uses a combination of empathy, personal motivation, game theory, family involvement and artificial intelligence to help patients be more receptive to changing their health behavior," according to TeleHealth Services Vice President of Product Development Richard Bootes.
