Orthopedic surgeon wins Oklahoma marathon by 40 seconds

Orthopedic surgeon David Rhodes, MD, 47, won the men's division of the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, according to The Oklahoman.

Dr. Rhodes completed the race in 2 hours and 39 minutes — 40 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher — despite missing a turn around mile 15 and having to double back.

Dr. Rhodes specializes in hand surgery at Integris Health in Edmond, Okla.
