Chicago-based Northwestern Memorial Hospital launched a neurology services program for Hispanic and Latino patients.
Three insights:
1. The Hispanic Brain and Spine Tumor Program enables patients to schedule appointments and discuss diagnoses and treatments in Spanish. Follow-up appointments will also be conducted in Spanish.
2. Neurosurgeon Adam Sonabend, MD, serves as the program's director. The program also harnesses the multidisciplinary expertise of Jean-Paul Wolinsky, MD, Roger Stupp, MD, and Priya Kumthekar MD.
3. Care team members will help patients arrange travel plans, finances and worship services, if desired.
