Nebraska hospital adopts 2 robotic systems — 3 quick facts

Kearney (Neb.) Regional Medical Center introduced two surgical robots: the da Vinci Xi Surgical System and the Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery System, Kearney Hub reports.

Three quick facts:

1. The da Vinci Xi is intended for use in general, bariatric, gynecological, urological and cardiothoracic surgeries.

2. The Mako system is designed for total hip and knee replacements.

3. Orthopedic surgeon Ryan DeBlis, MD, performed the first Mako surgery at KRMC on Aug. 12.
