Adena Health System plans to build a $70 million orthopedic and robotic center in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Four details:
1. The three-hospital system, which is based in Chillicothe, will sell bonds to finance the project.
2. The five-story facility will be built on Adena Regional Medical Center's campus.
3. ARMC opened in January 1974 with six operating rooms. The new center will have at least that many to accommodate orthopedic and robotic-assisted procedures.
4. Adena Health System plans to open the center in 2021. Construction is slated to begin later this year.
"In recent years, we have developed a great need for additional operating rooms and inpatient space to accommodate the new technology in robotic surgical procedures," Adena Health System CEO Jeff Graham said in an announcement. "The new center will meet the needs of our rapidly growing orthopedic service line and robotic surgery program, and will become a 'destination center for care.'"
