5 hospitals, health system expanding orthopedic lines

These five hospitals or health systems recently expanded their orthopedic services or added orthopedic facilities:

Oswego Health opened its Center for Orthopedic Care in Fulton (N.Y.) Medical Center.

Warsaw, N.Y.-based Wyoming County Community Hospital's proposal to create an orthopedic outpatient clinic for $1.1 million won state approval April 22.

Orthopedic surgeon Terry Schwab, MD, joined the medical staff at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kan. The hospital hadn't employed an orthopedic surgeon in about five years.

Charlottesville, Va.-based Sentara Martha Jefferson Orthopedics, which is affiliated with Sentara Healthcare, opened a practice in Crozet, Va.

Olean (N.Y.) General Hospital will begin offering advanced options for anterior orthopedic knee and hip surgeries later this year.
