Redox will integrate OpiSafe's opioid risk reduction platform with its interoperable healthcare network to help providers prevent opioid abuse.
Redox, an interoperability startup founded by three former Epic engineers, uses fast healthcare interoperability resources for its interoperable, cloud-based network. With Redox, healthcare organizations, payers, pharmaceutical companies and technology providers can share healthcare data with one another.
Under the new partnership, Redox will add OpiSafe's platform to its providers' EHRs to extract data needed to assess risk for each patient based on morphine equivalent dosing ranges, pain and function scores, opioid misuse risk scores and automated prescription drug monitoring program checks. The data will help clinicians determine if a patient is susceptible to opioid abuse before prescribing or during a treatment.
